about the exhibition

we brush past plants every single day.
trees along the street, flowers in garden beds, and small pots on our windowsills are always by our side, yet we rarely get the chance to look at them closely.

this plant specimen exhibition is held in conjunction with the 'plant showroom', a monthly themed showcase presented by the garden research center.

among the plants steadily researched and x-documented by seoul botanic park, visitors can explore specimens of endangered wild species in september and october, rare plants in november, and endemic plants in december.

take your time appreciating the plants found in the gardens of seoul botanic park, observing the texture of their leaves, the shapes of their stems, and the arrangement of their flowers. getting to know plants allows us to look at our daily lives with a little more warmth and care.

monthly themes & details

october theme: endangered wild species

- details: 18 specimens across 17 species of endangered wild species class ii, including the prickly waterlily (gasyeonkkot)

highlights

- the specimens in this exhibition were directly produced by the plant science lab using plants propagated in the seoul botanic park conservatory, offering an in-depth look at native plants that require our protection and care.

- each specimen is accompanied by its plant name, key characteristics, a photo taken during its blooming period, and its exhibition location within the park. after viewing the specimens, try finding the living plants in the actual gardens for a more vibrant experience.

we hope you enjoy the exhibition.
